Eight Killed in Taraba Communal Clashes

Jalingo — Communal fighting between herdsmen and farmers in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State has claimed at least eight persons and left five people injured, Daily Trust has learnt.

Daily Trust gathered that the latest wave of the conflict was a reprisal attack by suspected herdsmen to avenge the killing of two herdsmen by the farmers. Many houses, farm produce and property worth millions of naira were destroyed in the attack.

Resident Daniel Dahida, who lost a brother in the attack, told our correspondent in Jalingo that the assailants numbering over 200, attacked Tse-Ugbaa village in the early hours of Sunday at about 9 am. Read more …
