RAMALLAH, Feb 1 (KUNA) — Scores of Palestinians were wounded in clashes with Israeli troops in the town of Al-Issawiah in the Jerusalem region on Wednesday, witnesses said.
The violence broke out when the troops burst into the town and detained a Palestinian activist charged with hurling stones at the Israeli forces.
Dozens of Palestinians who confronted the troops were wounded with rubber bullets, they said. One of the activists was seriously wounded in the head.
Israeli police said two Israeli soldiers were wounded in the clashes and had to be hospitalized.
Elsewhere, the Israeli Army reported that a lone missile was launched from the north of Gaza Strip in the direction of Israel. The rocket harmlessly crashed near a settlement in the Western Negev. read more…
