Mob clashes with police in Moradabad

A DIG was injured and a police jeep set on fire when a mob went on the rampage on Wednesday after some policemen allegedly misbehaved with women in Moradabad on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday night, a police team had gone to arrest a man wanted in a case of molestation. Later, the women of the family alleged that the cops had made obscene comments.

Moradabad Range IG MK Bashal said a mob of over 200 people gathered on the Moradabad-Agra Road and blocked the road. When the police tried to clear the blockade, the agitators threw stones at them. The outnumbered cops fled, leaving behind a jeep which the people set on fire. Read more…
