JERUSALEM (Ma’an) — Israeli forces fired rubber-coated bullets and tear gas at Palestinians in East Jerusalem on Friday.
The confrontations was mainly in Silwan, but clashes also erupted in the Bustan neighborhood, a Ma’an correspondent said.
Forces fired tear gas at demonstrators outside a protest tent after Friday prayers, the reporter said. No injuries were reported.

A Palestinian infant was killed Friday after inhaling tear gas during clashes between the Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli police in Silwan neighborhood in East Jerusalem, officials said.
Fakhri Abu Diab, a member of the committee to defend the land of Silwan, told Xinhua that heavy clashes erupted in the neighborhood between Palestinians and Israeli police forces following Friday’s prayers.
The Israeli police forces fired rubber bullets and tear gas at the Palestinian demonstrators during the clashes, he said, adding that a 3-month-old female infant died after she inhaled the tear gas.
Palestinian witnesses said similar demonstrations erupted in several Palestinian neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, including Ras el-Amoud and al-Bostan. Read more…
