Riots Break Out at UNZA

University of Zambia students have once again clashed with police over the delay in government’s payment of Project allowances and home affairs decision to deduct their allowances.

The students, who were singing the now revolutionary Bufi that signals broken promises, mobilized themselves after it became apparent that they will not get their pay despite having been promised two weeks ago.

Students are owed K700 that the government had promised to pay after registration but none of that payment has been forthcoming. Read more…
