Sultanpur: Villagers of Tantiyanagar in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur clashed with policemen after they were being forcibly removed from the Allahabad-Faizabad state highway today.

They were protesting against the arrest of a local criminal Bablu Nishaad who belongs to the Mallah community. The Tantiyanagar village is dominated by Mallah’s.

The villagers were armed with lathis and also pelted stones on the policemen. The police also fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowds. Read more…
