Police report more than two dozen arrests after a night of violence and high tension downtown.

Early Saturday evening police seemed to have the situation under control but things changed when protestors reached Crescent, focal point of Grand Prix festivities.

Montreal and Surete du Quebec riot squad officers made several sweeps of the street in an attempt to keep protestors to the sidewalk and disperse the most rowdy. However officers were the target of thrown objects and taunts. An unknown number of police vehicles were vandalized. Read more…
