Communal clashes erupt in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Communal clashes broke out in Madanapet, Saidabad, and Kurmaguda areas of the new city of Hyderabad around 9 am today. Members of Bajrang Dal took out a rally in the morning from Hanuman Mandir of Kurmaguda alleging that Muslims have thrown beef and green color in the Mandir but this incident is yet to be confirmed.

The mob was making anti-Muslim slogans and started pelting stones on the Muslim houses. Ten houses were damaged while 1 house and 10 bikes were burned down. Nine people are said to have got wounded. BJP corporator from Kurmaguda Sashi Yadav was leading that rally.

Mohd Tahseen, resident of Saidabad whose house was damaged by stones told TCN “At 10 a.m in the morning huge mob gathered at Muslim dominated areas and started damaging Muslim properties, my house was attacked by stones and petrol bombs, it all happened in front of the police, police was watching all this as mere spectators. When I asked police officers for help they taunted me and asked me to get back into the house or else get injured.” Read more…
