Mob thrashes beggar on suspicion of child-lifting

Tension gripped Danilimda area of Ahmedabad on Thursday after a mob severely beat up a woman on the suspicion that she was attempting to kidnap a child and later clashed with policemen, injuring two of them.

The incident took place in the afternoon when locals near Chandola Lake area reportedly saw a woman “pulling a child on the other side of the road”. Soon, a crowd of 200-300 people gathered and attacked the woman, later identified as Saraswati Kasai, a beggar.

According to Danilimda police, the mob thrashed the woman and tied her hands with a rope. Read more…
