7 injured in clashes, cane-charge

Jammu, Apr 2 (PTI) Seven people were injured in pitched battles between JKDF activists, protesting the hike in water and power rates, and police who used force to restore calm. The clashes erupted when police tried to stop the activists of the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Front from marching towards the Civil Secretariat. Police swung batons to disperse the protesters. Raising anti-government slogans, over 350 JKDF activists hit the streets protesting shortage of essential commodities and hike in water and power rates
