Road blocked for hrs, vehicles vandalised

Aggrieved students of BGC Trust University Bangladesh blocked the Oxygen-Bayezid road in the port city for four hours yesterday following the killing of a fellow student in a hit-and-run accident right outside the campus.

The students also vandalised several vehicles including an army bus and three CNG-run three wheelers and 10 motorbikes.

The deceased Dipankar Das Dipu, 23, was a third semester law student of the university. He was son of Narayan Das and from Feni.

Dipankar was going to the university on a motorbike when a speeding bus of Cantonment Public School and College, Chittagong hit him near the main gate of the university’s Nasirabad campus around 12:00 noon and fled the scene. Read more…
