Cape Town – A service delivery protest in Cape town turned violent on Thursday when protesters stoned cars, and burned tyres, blockading a section of the N2.
« They are burning tyres and stoning cars. We’ve had one accident in which two gentlemen, about 50-years-old, were injured, » said Yolanda Faro, deputy chief of the Cape Town metro police.
Faro said between 100 and 150 people are taking part in the protest on the N2 near the Cape Town International Airport.
She said the metro police have closed the N2 and are redirecting traffic.
