Youth killed, several injured in fresh SP-BSP clashes

One person was killed and more than a dozen injured in clashes between SP and BSP workers over the past 24 hours in different districts of Uttar Pradesh.

State police chief Atul, who on Friday was asked by SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav to take strict measures to control the violence that erupted after the poll results were declared, said he already issued directives to all district police chiefs and senior officials to deal sternly with such incidents. The accused have been arrested in majority of the cases, the DGP said.

Among the fresh incidents of violence, one was reported from Hardoi. An exchange of fire between SP and BSP workers left a youth dead and five critically injured in Sandila area of the district on Saturday. Read more…
