Karachi police clash with KESC workers

KARACHI – Karachi’s “Red Zone” on Friday became a battlefield as a strong police force clashed with members of the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) workers union who tried to reach governor’s house.

The clashes created traffic chaos across the city. The protesters demanded that sacked and retrenched workers be reinstated. This is the third time in recent months that members of the KESC workers union have resorted to demonstration against the utility provider’s management .
