MANILA, Philippines – At least 11 residents, cop and fireman were injured after the anti-riot team penetrated the demolition area in San Juan City early today, said the Bureau of Fire Protection.
Police said the demolition in barangay Corazon de Jesus was already the third time, and that the residents were properly informed about their relocation.
San Juan Rep. Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito accused “professional” activists of trigerring the tension in the demolition.
“Ang karamihan, yung mga nanggugulo dito yung mga dayo. They are student activists from different schools like PUP (Polytechnic University of the Philippines). Kumbaga ito ‘yung mga professional na mga aktibista, na kung may mga demolition eh nandoon sila,” told Ejercito in an interview. Read more…
