Bloody Violence Erupts in Central Sulawesi

At least one person has been killed in clashes between two long-feuding communities in Palu, Central Sulawesi, on Saturday.
The fierce fighting comes as tourism ministers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) meet in Manado, North Sulawesi.
There are reports that many more people have been injured and that cars and homes have been set ablaze.
Reports from the scene of the violence say a running brawl erupted between people from the neighboring subdistricts of Nunu and Tavanjuka at 3 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Ridwan, 32, who died after he was shot in the chest. Read more…
