Man shot dead, clashes erupt in Seelampur

A ‘curfew-like’ situation prevailed in northeast Delhi’s Seelampur after a 30-year-old man was shot dead by bike-borne assailants on Wednesday evening. The incident triggered tension between two communities, who threw stones at each other and even tried to set a house on fire.

The deceased has been identified as Dinesh Kumar, a ‘bad character’ who ran a grocery shop at his J-52, Seelampur house.

According to the police, a woman, Noor Bi, also suffered bullet injuries when the assailants opened indiscriminate fire. She is undergoing treatment at GTB hospital and her condition is stated to be stable. Read more…
