Occupy activists storm Xstrata headquarters in London

ANTI-capitalist protesters have stormed an office in Londons West End to target Xstrata mining chief executive Mick Davis.
On a day of the UK’s biggest public sector strikes in three decades, a group of about 60 protesters linked to the Occupy London movement camped at St Paul’s Cathedral raided the Haymarket building and hung protest banners form the roof.
Riot police quickly shut down the rooftop demonstration and « kettled » about 100 demonstrators into a confined space on the street.
An Occupy London spokesman said they pinpointed Mr Davis, who oversees some of Australia’s largest mines, because he was the highest-paid chief executive of all FTSE 100 companies in the past year.
« When his companies had losses and the economy collapsed, he received 18,426,105 pounds ($A28.3 million) for his efforts, » the spokesman said.
Occupy London supporter Karen Lincoln said: « Mick Davis is a prime example of the greedy one per cent lining their own pockets while denying workers pensions. Read more…
