Campus tribal clash spreads to Salt

AMMAN – Tribal violence erupted on the campus of Balqa Applied University (BAU) in Salt, 25 kilometres northwest of Amman, on Sunday and spread to the city, prompting security forces to intervene, according to eyewitnesses.

Public Security Department Spokesperson Lt. Col. Mohammad Khatib told The Jordan Times over the phone yesterday that “as of late evening, the Gendarmerie Forces were struggling to end the riots in Salt, which left three police officers injured”. Read more…
