RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KTLA) — Police arrested 11 « Occupy Riverside » protesters Sunday afternoon near Riverside City Hall when they allegedly refused to remove tents from a public plaza, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Officers responded to the protest site about 3 p.m. at Main and 9th Streets and ordered the protesters take down their tents, saying they were not permitted to erect structures in the pedestrian plaza.
In the past, protesters have complied with requests by police to remove tents, officials told the Times. But Sunday, they formed a human chain around the tents and refused to move. Read more…
