Bogra, Aug 28 (bdnews24.com)—Clashes between police and villagers of Khudra Kushtia at Shahjahanpur over the death of a child have left six police and two journalists injured.
Police and eyewitnesses said the incident took place between 10am to 3pm on Sunday when the law enforcers fired 12 rounds from shotguns and 11 teargas shells to disperse the mob protesting the death of 5-year-old ‘Roman’.
Villager Hazera Bagum told bdnews24.com that Roman, son of Mahbubur Rahman, had gone missing since Aug 22 and his grandfather filed a general dairy with Shahjahanpur Police Station.
« On Sunday, Roman’s relatives held Abdul Khaleque and Abdul Majed of the same village and gave them a good beating. Later, upon their information Roman’s body was found in a septic tank, » she said.
Officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Reaz Uddin with five other policemen rushed there on information and tried to escort them to the police station, said Hazera. Read more…
