Youths clash with security forces in Bahrain

Clashes erupted between youths and security forces across restive Shia areas of Bahrain the day that the kingdom lifted its state of effective martial law.
Policemen fired tear gas and shotguns on small groups of flag-waving protesters who marched in the streets of Duraz on the outskirts of the capital Manama, according to an eyewitness.
There were reports of other clashes in other Shia villages, with human rights activists claiming many injuries.
The clashes mark the most widespread unrest since the authorities in mid-March cracked down on pro-democracy protests led by the majority Shia community. Read more…
