Mob clashes with cops after minister’s escort injures student

A students’ mob clashed with the police force after a class X student was hit by a police jeep escorting UP Cabinet Minister Daddu Prasad in City Kotwali police station area of Chitrakoot district on Friday.

The police had to fire several rounds in the air to disperse the violent mob. The Chitrakoot SP, Tehsildar Singh said the condition of the injured student, Sanjay Kumar, is stated to be stable and he has been sent to the SRN Medical College, Allahabad for treatment.

Eight policemen suffered injuries in the brick-batting by the students’ mob. A few of the agitating students even snatched two magazines of the self-loading rifle of a constable during the clash, he added. Read more…
