Incidents entre Palestiniens et colons juifs en Cisjordanie

BEIT OUMMAR, Cisjordanie (Reuters) – Des colons juifs ont ouvert le feu vendredi sur deux Palestiniens à Beït Oummar, près d’Hébron, en Cisjordanie occupée, blessant grièvement l’un d’entre eux, rapporte le maire de la localité.

Jeudi, un Palestinien de 19 ans, Odaï Kaddous, a été tué dans des circonstances analogues près du village d’Irak Bourine, non loin de Naplouse, plus au nord, selon des témoins palestiniens.

La police israélienne a déclaré qu’elle enquêtait sur ces deux affaires.

Faouzi Sabarna, le maire de Beït Oummar, a précisé à Reuters que des dizaines de colons juifs avaient fait irruption dans les rues du village vendredi matin et avaient commencé à tirer sur les maisons, touchant deux jeunes hommes qui travaillaient près des bâtiments.

L’un des jeunes, Fakhri Youssef, 17 ans, a été atteint à la tête et a dû être placé sous assistance respiratoire, a-t-on précisé de source médicale.

Les services d’urgence israéliens Zaka ont affirmé pour leur part que des colons avaient essuyé des tirs alors qu’ils marchaient dans le secteur et n’avaient fait que riposter à leurs agresseurs. Cette version a été contestée par des habitants du village palestinien.

Selon le journal Jerusalem Post, qui cite des sources palestiniennes, les colons sont ensuite entrés à Beït Oummar.

A propos de l’attaque de jeudi près de Naplouse, un cousin de la victime, Omar Kaddous, a accusé des colons d’avoir ouvert le feu sans motif sur le jeune homme. Lire la suite…

Palestinian Is Shot in Head in Clash With Israeli Settlers

HEBRON, West Bank — A 15-year-old Palestinian was fighting for his life on Friday in a hospital in this city in the southern West Bank after being shot in a brush with armed Jewish settlers.

It was the second such incident in two days. On Thursday, a young Palestinian was killed by an Israeli, presumed to be a local Jewish settler, in the Palestinian village of Iraq Burin in the northern West Bank.

The Israeli police said that in both cases, the Israelis opened fire after they were attacked by Palestinians throwing stones. Local Palestinians denied that stones had been thrown in either case.

After a period of relative calm, there has been an increase in recent weeks in violence on the West Bank, although the incidents have been localized and apparently unrelated. Israeli-Palestinian peace talks have been stalled for months, while the Palestinian Authority leadership faced a new challenge this week when Al Jazeera published leaked documents showing Palestinian concessions to Israel on sensitive issues during past negotiations. Relatives of Yusuf Khlayel, the youth who was critically injured when he was shot in the head on Friday, gathered at the Ahli hospital in Hebron. Yusuf’s father, Fakhri, said that he and his son had gone in the morning to work their land between the Palestinian villages of Beit Omar and Safa, north of Hebron, when a group of more than 100 settlers appeared. Mr. Khlayel said he was some distance away from his son when the shooting started and did not see exactly what happened.

A few hundred yards away, a relative, Murad Khlayel, 19, was shot and injured by one of a smaller group of settlers who had apparently split off from the main group, witnesses said. Murad Khlayel was also hospitalized, with a gunshot wound to his right arm. Read more…

Settlers and Palestinians clash in West Bank village; one dead, one injured

WEST BANK: Israeli settlers on Friday clashed with Palestinian residents at a village north of the West Bank city of Hebron, causing the death of one Palestinian and injuring another, the Haaretz newspaper reported.

Dozens of settlers from the Bat Ayin settlement went to the village of Khirbet Safa in the early hours of Friday. They confronted the Palestinian villagers and shortly after, settlers began shooting at the local residents.

After the confrontation, tow Palestinians were injured and rushed to a medical center in in Beit Jala near Bethlehem. A 17-year-old teenager died due to the severe wounds sustained. The other was lightly injured.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) arrived about thirty minutes alter and began an investigation to clarify that events that led to the death of the Palestinian teenager. Both sides claimed to be the victims.

Settlers said that Palestinains shot first at a group of hikers nearby and they came to their rescue. Kiryat Arba’s council chief Malachi Levinger said that he has been informed about this theory and added that « Jews have the right to travel along their country. » Read more…

Des colons tuent un jeune Palestinien à Iraq Burin, près de Naplouse

Jeudi après-midi, un colon israélien a tué un jeune Palestinien près de Naplouse, « un meurtre de sang froid », ont dit les témoins. Un habitant du village d’Iraq Burin a déclaré qu’il avait vu un colon ouvrir le feu sur Odai Maher Qadoush, 18 ans, du même village, alors qu’il travaillait sur la terre familiale près du village, le tuant sur le coup. Qadoush est resté sur les lieux pendant plus d’une demi-heure avant que les équipes de secouristes puissent l’atteindre et le transporter à l’hôpital Rafidya.

Un témoin a dit que Qadoush était mort lorsque les secouristes ont pu s’approcher de lui.

Selon les sources médicales, Qadoush a été touché par une balle dans la poitrine et que la balle venait probablement d’un tireur d’élite qui avait délibérément tué le jeune homme. Lire la suite …
