Srinagar, Dec 7 (IANS) Tension gripped north Kashmir’s Baramulla town Tuesday evening as stone-pelting youth clashed with the security forces following the death of a youth, police said.
Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were immediately deployed to bring the situation under control as stone-pelting youth took to streets in the Azad Gunj area of the town. More…
Youth’s death sparks protests in Baramulla

Srinagar: Clashes broke out between protesters and government forces in Baramulla town of North Kashmir after the death of a youth at a Srinagar hospital.
Protesters said that 28-year-old Zahoor Ahmad Dar son of late Abdul Razak Dar of Islamia Colony; old town was allegedly beaten by forces at Cement Bridge when he was on way to his residence on October, 1, this year.
Zahoor, they said suffered head injuries due to the thrashing by forces. He was later taken to SK Institute of Medical Sciences, Srinagar by family for treatment after he complained of pain in head.
Last week, they said Zahoor was again taken to the institute for treatment where he died this morning. More …
