Des heurts ont opposé jeudi des groupes de jeunes anarchistes et les forces de police dans le centre d’Athènes
Ces incidents sont intervenus après l’arrestation de 4 personnes soupçonnées d’être impliquées dans des attentats à la bombe.
Les quatre jeunes gens sont soupçonnés d’appartenir à un petit groupe de rebelles gauchistes.
La Grèce a été le théâtre de plusieurs attaques à la bonbonne de gaz de la part de groupes gauchistes ou anarchistes depuis les émeutes de décembre consécutives à la mort d’un adolescent de 15 ans tué par la police dans un quartier populaire d’Athènes.
« Environ 150 anarchistes ont lancé des pierres et d’autres objets sur deux policiers près d’un commissariat dans le centre d’Athènes. La police a riposté par des tirs de gaz lacrymogène », a déclaré un responsable policier.
Les manifestants ont incendié des poubelles dans les rues du quartier d’Exarchia, point de départ des émeutes du mois de décembre.
La police a procédé aux interpellations de quatre jeunes Grecs après l’explosion mercredi d’une bombe qui avait causé des dégâts mineurs devant le domicile d’un membre de l’opposition socialiste.

Athen (dpa) – Mehr als 200 Steine werfende Autonome haben sich in der griechischen Hauptstadt Athen in der Nacht zum Freitag Straßenschlachten mit der Polizei geliefert. Die Sicherheitskräfte ging mit Tränengas gegen die Krawallmacher vor.
Die Ausschreitungen brachen aus, nachdem am Donnerstag im Zusammenhang mit einer Serie von Brandanschlägen vier Verdächtige festgenommen worden waren. Die vermummten jugendlichen Autonomen attackierten die Polizei mit Steinen und steckten Mülleimer in Brand. Berichte über Verletzte oder Festnahmen lagen zunächst nicht vor.
In Griechenland kommt es seit Dezember 2008 immer wieder zu Ausschreitungen, Brand- und Bombenanschlägen, hauptsächlich auf Banken und Konzerne. Die Spirale der Gewalt begann, nachdem ein Jugendlicher am 6. Dezember 2008 von einer Kugel aus der Waffe eines Polizisten getroffen wurde und starb.

Athens – Greek riot police clashed with more than 200 stone-throwing anarchists in downtown Athens in the early hours of Friday following the arrest of four people suspected of taking part in a spree of bomb attacks.
The hooded youths hurled stones at police and set fire to rubbish bins near the central district of Exarchia. Police responded by firing tear gas. No injuries, arrests or major damage was reported.
The clashes came less than two weeks before general elections scheduled for October 4.
The country has been plagued by a series of bomb attacks by leftist groups across the country since the police shooting of a teenager last December in Exarchia, which sparked the country’s worst riots in years.
Anti-terrorist police arrested four young Greeks and raided a house in Athens Wednesday, discovering materials used to make explosives. The raid followed a bombing outside the home of an member of the Socialist opposition which caused minor damage.
The detainees are suspected of belonging to the small leftist guerilla group Fire Conspiracy Cells. The group claimed responsibility for a bombing in a government building in the northern Greek port of Thessaloniki earlier this month.
