The Supreme Court upheld Odinga’s rival Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidential election victory on 30 March. Odinga formally conceded defeat and urged his supporters to respect the Supreme Court’s decision, congratulating Kenyatta at a press conference held immediately after the court’s ruling.
